Cowgirl Abby!

Okay, so I'm terribly out of order here, but right now our entire life is a little out of order.  Posting pictures of Halloween in December seems perfectly normal relative to the chaos in our lives currently.  Bare with us...

Anytime Abby poses for a picture now, it involves a leg out and heel up.

"Freeze, bad guy!"

Ready to go get some candy!!!

Pumpkin patch break on our whirlwind road trip through TX back in September.

Thad's Fini Flight In The Hog

Sorry for the long delay in posts.  I have been putting off posting the first blog that mom won't be reading.  She used to check the blog everyday.  I miss her so much.

As a result, this post will be one or two from each month since mom got sick.  Thank you to all who had us in your thoughts and prayers.

Here's one of Abby waiting patiently for Thad to taxi in on his last flight in the A-10.

Finally there he is!

Tailgating before the last U of A game and saying goodbye to friends.

Bye toys, bye bed, bye sunny Tucson!!!

Hello cold, rainy San Antonio!

We're off on a new adventure, but are so happy to be back in Texas!  I promise I'll be more diligent with the blog as we get settled into our new digs.

It's Time For Ballet!

Ballet is foreign to Thad and I, but we signed Miss Abby up anyway!  Gymnastics and soccer don't start until she's five years old, so this was our best bet for an organized activity at this point.  I'm secretly hoping it doesn't stick.  It's a little too, no offense, girlie.  She loved her first class though.  Miss K, the teacher was nice and Skylar, her 5 year old friend from the squadron, is in the same class.  We knew five minutes into it that it would be ten times better than swim lessons, which started and ended disastrously!  All in all, she had a big day on Saturday...first ballet class, first birthday party (other than her own - Chuck E. Cheese...boo.), and first sleep over!  She stayed at Skylar's house while mom and dad went to the U of A football game and had "adult time" with friends.  Great day.

She refused to put any clothes on over her leotard.  We finally convinced her to put on her skirt before leaving the car.

Abby and Skylar waiting patiently for their first class to begin!

Miss K, in blue, teaching the little ones how to point their toes.  Takes me back to my first job as a gymnastics instructor.

Learning how to sashay.

No parents allowed in the room (I guess to eliminate distractions), but I snuck around the corner and snapped this one...sorry about the flash reflection!

Visit From Reid's Papa (A.K.A. Bobby)

I don't think she really knows his name.  She just kept saying "Reid's Papa", but she still knows that he was her "surrogate" daddy while Thad was in the ROK her first year of life.  Good to see you Bobby and hope to see Annie, Reid, and little Piper soon!!!!!

Gig 'em!

Excited for the first Aggie football game!  I managed to "trim" down a youth small Maroon Out t-shirt for Abby and we made it to the sports bar with at least a little team spirit!  Let's hope the whippins keep on comin' from the Aggies...

First Recognizable Art!

Abby woke up in a bad mood the other day, so I said, "How 'bout we draw a smiley face so we can remember to be happy today."  This is what she ended up with.  Not bad, huh?  My favorite part is the arms instead of ears!!

A Treat On The Way Home From School

Abby has really enjoyed spending so much time with daddy lately!  Trips to the library, stops for fruit smoothies, etc.  I can't wait to get better so I can do fun stuff again.

Check Out Our Big Girl!

Abby looks so big these days!  Maybe because I haven't been able to stare at her everyday like I usually do.  I can really see how she is growing fast!

Daddy took her to the Desert Museum on her birthday.  "Look I'm a turtle!"
Watching the fireworks on her birthday with Grandma Sherry.

Looking cute in her ladybug dress from Grams.

Look Who's THREE!!!

Happy birthday little girl.

Abby has had one parent at home with her for two of her three birthdays.  She's getting used to the monkey business, but we're not.  Here's some pictures of her birthday party at Old Pueblo Gymnastics.  Needless to say she was worn out.  Thanks to everyone for all you did for her on her big day!

A good shot of the crocodile bouncy castle.  It took the kidos a while to warm up to him.  Look at those teeth!!
Abby needed a little coaxing to get the party started.  She had never really seen most of the equipment, but like most things figured it out pretty quick.

Where was the entire runway of trampoline that ended in a foam pit when I was a kid????  Abby spent most of the party up and down this trampoline and in and out of the foam pit at the end!!

Then it was like someone flipped a switch...they all climbed in the bouncy castle at the same time.

The whole group (minus the Dean girls that left early)! Four friends from "school" and seven little ones we know through the squadron.
 Time to eat!

Daddy's Home Again!

First of all, I apologize for not making a post in so long.  We have so many new things to report from our little world...daddy's home, Abby's new bed, a lot fewer diapers around here, upcoming birthday party, and looking forward to a new classroom at "school".

We are so excited to have daddy home again!  We took some leave to get reacquainted and get some yard/house improvements made...including planting some palm trees by the pool.  They look great!

Abigail has been enjoying a week's worth of good night's sleep in her new "big girl bed".  She tells people, "It's my day bed.".  Before we left Uglyhoma, we took advantage of the wood shop on-base and built her a crib with a convertible option...just pop off one of the crib rails and slap on the day bed rail.  Presto - big girl bed.

She's doing good with potty training. We're not 100% yet, but she has the concept down.  Now to get her to be consistent.  It would probably help to have some more consistent parents!  We're really proud of her progress though and can't wait to bypass the diaper isle at Target once and for all.

Okay enough blabbing.  Here's some recent pictures of the princess!

I'd say Max has become a part of the family!

Abby Rose loading up her newest "weapon"...squirt gun!!!

Shooting daddy in the pool!  She's a warrior!

Getting used to her new water wings.  She figured out fast that she doesn't need help anymore!

Havin' fun!

The secret to potty training...put the potty in the living room so she can't miss it and hand her an information pamphlet.  So funny.

New big girl bed!
 Perfect fit!
 Mastered the water wings!
 Look at me...I'm a fish!

 A nice swim at sunset.
