Against My Better Judgement...

I just can't resist allowing our families and friends to see Abby's new trick. I know, when she's old enough to know what the Internet is, she'll hate me for this, but the way I see it, she owes me a little for all the dirty diapers and tantrums I've dealt with the past few days. In some twisted way, they make this seem okay for now...
I can't help but think she's working on her try-out for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders or the Kilgore Rangerettes!! Check out the flexibility!!

"Oh no, mom's watching me."

"Who cares? This is just too fun!"

All five toes??? Believe it or not, we're sooooo proud!

Total Ham

I was so impressed with Abby staying put when I sat her on the bed, that I ran to get the camera (no I don't carry it around with me at all times - though it must seem like I do!). She sat still for one picture and then totally hammed it up by doing a slow-mo fall over - and I think it was just for the camera. I started laughing and she picked up on the fact that it could be a fun new trick, so she did it over and over again...every time I sat her there. It was so deliberate - too funny. Notice how her face is saying "This is my new fun trick and mom loves it!"

Oh, the drama!

Believe it or not, this went on for at least 30 minutes...always ending in this face!

At least she's managed to keep a sense of humor while having her new house torn upside down. Here's some photos of the demo and one of our empty kitchen.

Now the fun part starts with putting our touch on the house. More pics to come...hopefully soon with a new kitchen.

Crawling Soon?

Our little girl has decided she wants to be mobile. Looks like it's time to start kid proofing the house - she's going to be off and running soon. How'd I figure this out? I put her in her usual post-meal spot on the couch and this is what ensued:

Notice how she's so involved with her toys, and how they're not moving forward, but she is.

Her head keeps going lower and lower - until she does a face plant!

Notice the size of the slobber spot on the sofa grow throughout the maneuver!

Wait for it...

...wait for it...

Ugh! Face plant!

"Look Mom, I did it!"

Only problem is, she hates being on her stomach. She gets a frustrated look on her face and grunts like a pig.

Not bad for 4 months, huh?

Visit From Kalleen

Kalleen Steele, a.k.a. "Shebat", "Top Gun" or "Klepto", and I were in T-38s together at Vance many moons ago and we get visits from her when she's not taking out the bad guys in her F-16. But, this visit was historic in that it was her first time to meet Abigail!! We're all very jealous of her because she's now stationed at Ft Hood, TX as an ALO (Air Liaison Officer) with the Army. We're jealous of the TX part of that. Love ya, Shebat!

I also wanted to post one of Abby in a dress from her "fall collection". All of the old ladies at church loved it anyway...thought y'all might, too.

Abby Turns 4 Months!!

Happy 4 months little girl!

She's still growing like a weed and doing all kinds of new neat things. She's found her toes and loves to grab them when she's fighting off a nap. She gets a look on her face like "Where did these come from?". Another skill she's perfected is blowing some pretty awesome spit bubbles. We take no credit for teaching her how to do this, but they're pretty impressive. I'll try to get some good pics of both new talents soon.

But for now, all I have is a few cute ones of our Halloween costumes...and yes, Thad is wearing a gut pillow. We're not that out of shape, yet. We thought about dressing her up as Maggie Simpson, but we couldn't resist how cute the chili pepper was.

I love that face...she's such a good sport.

We hung out and gave candy away to the new neighborhood kids and then went to the new A-10 class' party to show her off and play some beer pong.

Homer, Marge and the chili pepper at the Lobo Halloween party:

Halloween was a great break from ripping up tile in our new kitchen. Here's some "before" pictures and one of Thad hard at work:

And one last parting shot! Mom forgot to brush Abby's hair, but she still manages to look cute in her camo jammies from Grams.

A sad night for America:

It looks like the radical has become our 44th president and we're heading for 4 years of pure socialism. I hope for Abby's sake that our country and our military can recover from what they are about to undergo.

Busy Times

Apparently moving and remodeling a house requires time...and lots of it. Who knew? I apologize for the lack of blog posts, but that doesn't mean for one second that I stopped taking pictures...so here's a look at Abby's latest adventures.

It's starting to get cool at night here so we christened our new fireplace and Abby seemed to enjoy it!
Thad's A-10 class graduated and he took Abby and I into a sim so we could blow stuff up too!

Here's one of us after the ceremony:

Our good friend Brooklyn was over for some pool time and picked out Abby's outfit...the opposite of what I normally put on her...a very, very pink dress. She makes it look good though, huh?

Abby on the back porch swing with Miss Brooklyn:

Imagine daddy' shock to see her in such attire!

Abby was thrilled to get her first Halloween bib from Aunt Jane! Thank you Jane for the cute bib and burp cloth and all the messes it will prevent!

Here's what Abby normally ends up in when mom dresses her. Here's her having fun kickin' back in the recliner.

Even though the temps at night are in the 50's, it still gets up into the 90's during the day. So we decided to let Abby take her first dip in the pool before it gets to cold to attempt it. It was still pretty darned cold, but look at her take it like a champ. Maybe we have a future Polar Bear Club member on our hands!?!

I love the look on her face when her toes hit the water:

Lyndi, Hayden, Anna, and Abby:

And finally, we have to give a shout out to good ol' Maggie on her 4th birthday! Happy Birthday girl. Sorry your new sister takes away most of your attention these days. You're a good dog...I mean Super Dog!
Super Dog and Bat Dog ready to save the world. Good grief!

I love you girl.
