San Antonio Zoo

One of our funnest family outings in TX was taking Abby to the zoo. At first she had a look on her face like "Um, these animals aren't stuffed!". Once she saw the bears, she started roaring like a lion and didn't stop until we got home. She really seemed to love all the animals and the excitement wore her out so much that she hardly noticed that we took her to one of my classmate's house so we could go out on date night!!

You sure about this dad?

Checking out the Grizzly basking in the TX sun.

Abby and a hippo butt - we loved this area of the zoo; you could see above and below the water on all of the exhibits.

Abby like the kids zone the best. It took her a little while to realize this sloth wasn't real and she could go sit on him for a picture.

Checking out the giant sea turtles.
Imitating the turtles.

Can't go to the zoo without a picture of the Warthog!

Just lounging around the apartment.

Christmastime is here!

Okay, we know it's been over a month since Christmas, but we've been kind of "off-the-grid" for a little while! Well, we're back to the Internet and we have a good month of pictures from celebrating Christmas, to enjoying Texas as a family, to spending time in the sunshine and 70 degrees of Arizona!

Here's some pics of our Christmas celebration. Abby was a very good girl, and waited until daddy got home on January 1st for the family to open our presents.

Our Charlie Brown tree in the background...best effort at toddler-proofing Christmas.

Abby trying on her ladybug backpack from Papa John and Grandma Enid.

She loved her new dress from Aunt Jane so much that she gave it a big hug. Kind of weird!?

Reading a book with daddy.

Daddy brought her a stuffed zebra from Korea which turned out to be perfect since she loves "Madagascar"!

Abby trying to take her new zebra for a ride...guess we need to start buying bigger stuffed animals.

Making the most of the drive to
TX!!
Abby says, "Goooooo whoever is playing t.u.!". In this case, Alabama.

Happy New Year And Welcome Home Daddy!

Abby and I can't believe it's finally here! Daddy will be home in 3 hours! Here's some pics of the front yard. I decided to take the flag that Uncle Eric flew in his Apache helicopter over Iraq on the First Free Election (20 Jan 05) out of the case and fly it for Thad. I don't think Eric would mind and I know Thad will be honored. I also hung some yellow ribbons so he would know not to "stay on the bus"...

It's Almost Christmas For The AZ Reddicks!

Merry Christmas everybody! We're waiting a few more days to celebrate as a family, but here's some fun pics of the girl celebrating with the Fallins, our surrogate family!

Abby in our front yard getting ready to go to the Fallin family Christmas dinner! Her Christmas collection includes a gorgeous little number from Aunt Tuzzi!

Trying waaay to hard to smile big for the camera. It almost looks like she's in pain. Here's one of her enjoying Reid and Taya's toys they got for Christmas.

Doesn't everybody hang out by the pool on a warm, sunny Christmas day?

It turns out Santa might be a little scary! She wasn't actually crying, but that big fat bottom lip says it all.

Reid hung in there like a brave little champ. Maybe next year Abigail will enjoy this tortuous tradition!

We went for a stroll through the Winterhaven neighborhood here in Tucson. Normal, modest houses with extraordinary participation in Christmas lights/decorations. It was a cold night requiring blankets and schnapps in the hot cocoa!
Bobby Fallin and his dad manning the hot chocolate/schnapps bar:

All bundled up ready to see some lights

Hanging out with the Fallins to watch some football

In AZ, the roses and citrus trees never get the memo that it's actually December and are in full bloom. Abby loves to take a stroll through the garden and smell every rose she can reach. Sometimes she brings a few in so we can smell them inside too.

All I want for Christmas is a Labrador. Santa must've gotten confused and left us 5! Our holidays have been anything but lonely with this crew keeping us and Maggie company.

Abby In TX

Enjoying the playground in College Station (Whoop!) after a burger at the Chicken Oil. Yum!

The phrase, "You're ugly and yo mama dresses you funny" comes to mind...except for the ugly part.
Uncle Eric reading Abby her night, night story....Nemo!

Um, no comment.

Uncle Eric leading Abby to the playground.

Grams had to turn her head!

Weeeeee!

I see a face of approval.

Trying out the log roll.

Abby immediately headed for the stairs and wanted more of the slide!
Here we go!

Love the static electricity.

And back for more....

Not sure who was having more fun!

"Why isn't my swing moving?"

"Oh, thank you very much!"

Uncle Eric showing Abby how to play some tunes!
Abby tickling the ivories on her own!

"So, Tuzzi, thanks for keeping Maggie and dropping her off. How was your day at work?"
She's such a grown-up! She begged Tuzzi for all of her patches and then proceeded to tell her a story in 1 yr old speak.
